Online learning @ the HVACReduStore Mark is ready to chat if online is green |
Here is how the process works. 1. Enroll your participants with their name, an email address and the company name. 2. They will receive a book list. They may choose one of three different books. If they do not have access to one of the choices, the books may be purchased through direct links to Amazon pages at www.LearningHVACR.com (I recommend the Modern Refrigeration and Air Conditioning by Goodheart-Wilcox. It is an excellent reference work in addition to being a good study text.) 3. I send an email invitation to each to take an online practice/assessment test. 4. Participants take the test, print off a copy of the test and their results as a study guide. They are told which questions they missed but not the correct answers. They are to research and find the correct answers. (The more they study the better their chances of passing the exam.) 5. Once all participants have completed the test and have had time to study, I send invitations to an online discussion group with instructions for participation. 6. In the discussion group I post resources and information and questions for them to answer two or three times a week. Assignments are based on the results of the practice tests. 7. Students are required to respond with answers and comments at least every 48 hours plus comments about the other student’s comments. 8. I respond to comments and student questions within 24 hours to the whole group. 9. If something warrants responding privately to an individual I respond by email. 10. Upon completion of 6 weeks of discussion group training and study, the participants are invited to retake a scrambled version of the practice test. If they do not score well enough to assure a reasonable chance to pass the Journeyman exam, they may take some time to study and try the practice test again. 11. I come to your location on an agreed upon date to present a 4 hour review session based on the results of the practice tests. |
